Dundee United wideman Will Ferry spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with Celtic on Matchday 26.

Our number 11 discussed Celtic's Bavarian battle, getting back on track and honing his talents at Tannadice!

ON CELTIC'S EUROPEAN ADVENTURES PLAYING INTO OUR HANDS

They played earlier in the week against Bayern Munich, so we're not entirely sure what to expect, but we're sticking with the game plan we've been working on and are excited to get started.

They have a strong squad and the ability to make changes, but that won’t affect our approach. At the end of the day, our game plan stays the same. We're going there with the mindset of taking whatever we can, whether it's a point or a win.

Everyone knows it’s difficult to go there and try to get something, but we have full belief. We just need to be solid, go there, and stick to what we’re good at, playing football, being a good team, and staying in games. We know we’ve got a threat going forward as well, so hopefully everything comes together.

ON FINDING RHYTHM AGAIN

We had a week off last weekend, so it’s kind of delayed the feeling of wanting to get back into the next game, especially after a loss. It's been a bit frustrating in that sense, but that's what it's about, getting back on a positive run.

We’ve had quite a few good runs this season, so hopefully, we can repeat that and go on a strong one now. The message from the manager has been clear: it’s been a great season so far, but not to get too high after a couple of good results, and importantly, not to get too low after a couple of bad ones.

We all have expectations, whether in the changing room or outside of it, but we don’t let that affect us. We stick to what we've set for the season and what we believe we can achieve. That's what it's all about.

ON WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR OPPOSITION

They've got a big squad and are able to make changes, but even when they do, they bring in good quality. We've watched plenty of their games this season and played them twice, so we know what to expect.

They’ll have lots of possession, play intensely, and not give you an inch. We've dealt with that well at times this season, and we managed to get a point when we played there. I believe we can go there and get something.

ON KEEPING BELIEF DESPITE A DIFFICULT RUN

I don’t think we’ve ever let a negative result or a small bad run snowball this season. We’ve got strong characters in the changing room, and you can see that in games when we face difficult moments, we always bounce back and respond.

We're just looking to do the same thing. Like I said, the league is tight, but we don’t focus on that. If we do what we're good at and keep doing our jobs until the end of the season, we should pick up a good amount of points.

Every point matters, and it doesn’t matter who it’s against, whether it’s at the top or the bottom of the league. Sometimes, when expectations are against you, those results feel even more significant. But within the changing room, we have full belief.

ON PROGRESSING AS A PLAYER SINCE HIS SUMMER SWITCH

I’m happy. The season’s not over yet, so I’m hoping to keep improving. I’ve really enjoyed being in the league and part of the team, and I’d like to think it’s been a positive experience so far.

As for my football, I feel like I've benefited a lot from playing here. I’ve been given the freedom to express myself, but it all starts with the solid base we have as a team. I’ve learned a lot defensively, personally, and being part of a good unit. Apart from the odd game, we've been solid, and that shows in how few goals we've conceded.

My game has definitely come on since I’ve been here, with different experiences like playing away at Rangers and Celtic or having gritty home games where the ball’s in the air for 90% of it.

On Aims for the Remainder of the Season

I don’t think anyone will hide from the fact that top six is something we’re aiming for, but it won’t be a pressure situation if we lose a game here and there - it’ll be about staying steady.

We have complete belief in what we’ve got in the changing room and go into every game with full confidence, so let’s see how many points we can pick up and where we end up. We’ll fight for everything, as we’ve shown throughout the season, and just see where we can get to.

On His Decision To Join Dundee United Being Vindicated

Yeah, it was a tough one at first because it’s a complete unknown, as it always is. Moving to a different league, I didn’t know what to expect in terms of testing myself, but it’s been a positive experience.

I don’t look back and regret anything. There will always be hard times, with ups and downs, but overall, I think it’s been a good decision for me personally. I hope it comes across that way to others as well, and that they can see how much I’m enjoying it.
