Dundee United vs St Johnstone
cinch Premiership
3pm Saturday 1st October 2022
Tannadice Park
We're back in cinch Premiership action after the international break.
The Liam Fox era gets underway at Tannadice tomorrow as St Johnstone make the short journey to Tannadice.
Below is the key information for supporters:
OPPONENT OVERVIEW
A mixed bag of results to start the season sees the visitors come to Tannadice sitting ninth in the league.
The Saints have picked up two wins from their opening seven matches, the latest being a 3-0 home victory over St Mirren at the beginning of September.
Our last meeting with the Tayside outfit came back in early February, with a goalless draw being played out at McDiarmid Park.
PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS
Liam Fox highlighted his excitement about officially taking charge this weekend, but knows the threat St Johnstone will pose.
The players have trained well this week and are looking forward to it. We know it's going to be a really tough game. There's a lot of respect for St Johnstone, their players, manager and coaching staff, so we are going to have to be at our very best.
"We want to keep building and make Tannadice a really difficult place to come to - we're looking to start that with a performance and a victory on Saturday.
Charlie Mulgrew also spoke to the press this week on Liam Fox's appointment and this weekend's fixture.
His way of working isn't alien to us. There's a familiarity there but also some new ideas and things that he wants - we're looking forward to that challenge.
"The players are happy that we can now get our heads down and move forward. We've been really impressed with the training - there's still a long way to go in the season and we want to give it our all.
"It's going to be another tough game this weekend. We've got to be right up for it and ready for the challenge. Every team on their day is capable of beating anyone so we need to be on our game.
