Paul Sturrock would be delighted if Gazza came to Tannadice!
Luggy's ex-coach Walter Smith has snapped up Paul Gascoine at Everton, and now the former England star could make his debut for the Toffees in the testimonial for Maurice Malpas on July 25.
Sturrock said,"If Gazza played it would be great for Mo - it would add an edge to the occasion. He's a fantastic player with great natural ability and knows how Wattie wants the game to be played."
The careers of Malpas and Gascoine have been considerably contrasting - Mo is a dedicated one-club man, who has been a model professional, while Gazza has had several clubs in a career full of controversy.
But both have played at the top and have a lot to thank Walter Smith for. Gascoine appearing in Mo's big night may be fitting to the occasion.
More pressing matters for Sturrock is the recruitment of new talent.
He has been locked in talks with agents of the trialists who were in Ireland with the first team squad. "Negotiations are ongoing and I have also been looking at other players," he added.
