TANNADICE TO OPEN ITS DOORS AGAIN ON CHRISTMAS DAY

Festive Friends is back for 2019 and Tannadice will be opening its doors on Christmas Day for the second year running.

Thanks to the fantastic efforts of the Team DUCT walkers, over £4,500 has been raised so far for the Christmas Meal for local people that may not have any family to spend Christmas Day with and families that may need extra support at this time of year. After the success of last year’s event, Tannadice will welcome up to 120 guests from across the city to join us for a fantastic day of food, entertainment and presents! 

David Dorward, Chairman of Dundee United Community Trust said: “We like to think we make a difference throughout the year but being able to open the doors of Tannadice Park on Christmas Day is extra special and we couldn’t do it without a wonderful band of committed volunteers. We also need the help of the community to identify and encourage people who might be on their own on Christmas Day to come along to Tannadice and join us for a Christmas Day meal to remember. If you know of someone who would benefit from our Christmas Day meal, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.”

Mal Brannigan, Managing Director at Dundee United FC stated: “We are delighted to be once again working with the Trust to host this year’s Festive Friends Christmas Day meal at Tannadice Park.  Last year’s inaugural event was very special with individuals, families with young children and older people coming along and spending their Christmas Day with us and I am really looking forward to this year’s event. We are happy to welcome anyone who would like to come along on the day to either volunteer or to join us for their Christmas Meal.” 

Dundee United Community Trust are starting to get in touch with organisations and groups that would know of individuals or families that may like to attend on the day. However, if you know of anyone that may benefit from some company and support on the day, please get in touch.
