United's defensive concerns for Sunday's Premier League opener will hopefully be eased by good news on the fitness front from skipper Jason de Vos.
The Canadian accompanied clubmate Pat Onstad back from international duty against Trinidad & Tobago. And a clean bill of health would be good news for boss Sturrock, with summer signing Danny Griffin ruled out by injury, and last season regular David Partridge sidelined by suspension.
Said the manager,"It is really important that Jason has not suffered an injury. We would be a bit stretched if that occurred".
