Next up for United is a home fixture versus Inverness Caledonian Thistle this Saturday at 3pm.
The Caley Jags have found life in the Ladbrokes Championship difficult with one win in their nine games so far.
Inverness Manager John Robertson will cite recent form with successive 0-0 league draws at home to Queen of the South and away to Falkirk split by a resounding 3-0 IRN BRU Cup victory over Peterhead as proof of an upturn in form.
United come into the game after the disappointment of the 0-2 reverse away to Livingston had slowed down the positive momentum that has been building in recent weeks. The Terrors will look to their superb home record to ensure the three points.
In the previous meeting between the teams, Ray McKinnon's tangerines came home from an opening day trip up the A9 with a 1-0 victory thanks to a Paul McMullan penalty kick.
