Dundee United announced on Wednesday midfielder Willo Flood has agreed on a contract extension until June 2018.
The 32-year-old, who appeared 46 times in a United shirt last season scoring two goals, becomes the second contract extension announced this week after right-back Stewart Murdoch.
Willo has played 198 times in total for United in his four spells at the Club scoring seven goals and securing his services for another season ensures his leadership qualities on and off the park remain.
Manager Ray Mckinnon said, "Willo's ability is there for everyone to see but he has shown, time and again, his leadership and work ethic are right up there and were an important reason for the decision to offer him another year.
"The signings we have already brought to the Club and the players I am currently pursuing are all strong characters alongside their ability, and it was important that we kept hold of players like Willo who already brought a strong mentality to the dressing room. It will be important that I know every player can impact the game when called upon and with Willo I know that to be the case."
Willo said, "I enjoy being a United player and I am determined to get this Club into the Premiership. I am happy to have signed a new contract and now want to focus on ensuring promotion this year."
