Goalkeeper Cammy Bell has won the Ladbrokes Championship Player of the Month Award for September.
A delighted Cammy today accepted the award at a press event at the Club's St Andrew's training complex.
The stopper who joined United in the summer has made a massive impact in his short time at the Club with a series of assured performances, and he hit the headlines all over the world on 10th September with a remarkable hat-trick of penalty saves in the first half of the game versus Dunfermline, a match United went on to win 3-1.
The
clip of his three penalty saves went viral with just under 600,000 views.
Cammy will have to make do with an unofficial world record for his feat. While there is no recorded instance of a goalkeeper saving three penalties in one half in a competitive match, unfortunately, because it did not happen in the Ladbrokes Premiership, it did not meet the criteria required for the Guinness Book of World Records. He now has a monthly award to keep alongside the match ball he claimed on the day.
