IRN-BRU CUP DRAW AT 2PM TODAY

The draw for the quarter-finals of the IRN-BRU Cup will be made today, Monday 10 October at 2pm at the Titan Crane in Clydebank. Ties are due to be played on the weekend of November 12/13. United secured their place in the draw with a 1-0 win against Stranraer on Saturday. Tony Andreu got the only goal midway through the second half. Elsewhere, Greig Spence grabbed a double and Jon Robertson and Kevin Cawley were also on target as Alloa Athletic won 4-2 away to Welsh side Bala Town. St Mirren came from behind to defeat Hibernian 2-1 at Easter Road. Alex Harris gave Hibs the lead but Stevie Mallan equalised and David Clarkson struck with eight minutes left. Dunfermline Athletic beat Queens Park 2-1 at East End Park thanks to a double from Farid El Alagui whose own goal gave the visitors a consolation. Ladbrokes League 2 leaders Forfar Athletic went down 3-1 to Welsh champions The New Saints at Station Park. Greg Draper hit a hat-trick, with Stuart Malcolm scoring for the Loons. On Friday night, Ayr United defeated Falkirk 1-0 after extra-time with Gary Harkins scoring the winner for Ian McCall’s men. Livingston beat Northern Irish Premiership leaders Crusaders 2-1 in Belfast thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Scott Pittman after Jordan Owens had cancelled out Liam Buchanan's 74th-minute opener. On Sunday, Queen of the South defeated Linfield 2-0 thanks to Lyndon Dyke's 102nd minute strike and Stephen Dobbie secured victory with a superb free-kick.
