United secure the first point as a game of two halves at Tannadice finishes even.
Summary by Tommy McKay
After a cagey start which saw neither team record a shot on target, Jacobs brought out a comfortable save from Bell on 26 minutes.
A half of few chances saw Queen of the South take the lead on 40 minutes with former United man Mark Millar finishing from eight yards after an unselfish cut back from Grant Anderson.
Into the second half and a much changed United posed constant threats to the QOS back line and in the 69th minute Nick van der Velden chased a diagonal ball from Murdoch and after, beating the QOS defender all ends up, dispatched a wicked drive which flew past Robinson in the goal.
Despite hitting the post and having near constant possession United couldn’t find the winning goal however the performance in the second half will have left the home support in no doubt that we have an exciting squad which will cause a lot of problems to teams this season.
