The grass is cut, the nets are hung and the lines are painted but more importantly, Ray MacKinnon and his team are ready for Ladbrokes Championship action!

We welcome Queen of the South to Tannadice tomorrow in the opening fixture of the 2016-17 League Campaign.
New managers Ray MacKinnon and Gavin Skelton will be looking to get their campaigns off to a winning start and will be hoping to continue the form shown in the recent Betfred League Cup fixtures which saw both teams secure passage to the last 16. With two victories and 8 goals scored at Tannadice already, United will be hoping to secure victory and take the first step on the ladder to promotion.
The history books favour the home team with United winning 18 of the 32 games against QOS losing only 4. The last time the teams met was September 2012 in the 3rd round of the league cup with a solitary Johnny Russell goal being enough to secure victory in a game in which current United star Mark Durnan featured for QOS.
With Paul Dixon still unavailable, Jamie Robson looks favourite to continue at left back after an assured display against Dunfermline lay time out. Scott Fraser will be missing from the match day squad due to suspension whilst Cammy Smith returns after illness.
The past is the past, there is nothing anyone can do to change it but we can all look towards the coming season with renewed optimism and real belief that come May 2017 we will be celebrating our return to our rightful place in the SPFL Premiership.
