Match Preview And Ticket Update

18th March 2016

As we welcome city neighbours Dundee to Tannadice for the early kick off this Sunday, it’s important that positive thoughts are at the forefront of our minds. By Ally Stewart As usual when we face the Dark Blues there is so much more than the just points at stake. Should we go out and perform as we all know the players can, they don’t only stand every chance of getting a result, but also of creating a buzz that can have an enormous impact on the following fixtures. There are nine games remaining and 27 points at stake including this one. That’s a lot of football and there will undoubtedly be a few more twists before anything is decided.  We don’t have any of the current top four sides left to play and every single game ahead is winnable. With regards selection, Calum Morris is looking set to overcome the injury sustained at Fir Park last week whilst Eiji Kawashima will be assessed ahead of the game in the hope he can come back. We can possibly expect Mixu Paatelainen to make one or two changes as he seeks the starting eleven best equipped to get the job done. The goal scoring exploits of Henri Anier recently have added another dimension to the attack and he, along with Billy Mckay, will be all the more eager to impress following an international call up this week. A full house is expected as ever for the home derby and it’s sure to be a tense, fiery and admittedly stressful afternoon for all in attendance. Let’s vent that energy in the form of some really positive backing when undoubtedly the players need us more than ever. If the men in tangerine can feed off that and leave nothing on the pitch then we may just open that door again. Come on United!!!
