United and Bradford City confirmed on Thursday they had agreed a three-month loan deal for the English Premiership side's Welsh international striker Dean Saunders. Whether or not the one-time Swansea, Cardiff, Brighton, Oxford, Derby, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Galatasaray and Benfica man joins up is now down to the player himself.
Saunders is expected to give Manager Alex Smith his answer before Dunfermline visit Tannadice on Saturday. If he comes, the team boss believes Saunders will provide the goals United need to get off the bottom of the SPL. "He is a fit man and although he is now 36, he has looked after himself and retained his enthusiasm for the game," said Alex. "It would be nice to bring him to the club on loan, though I would stress that if he decides not to come, we do have other options we are looking at."
