THREE GOALS CONCEDED AT IBROX

1st October 2000

United remain three points behind second bottom Motherwell in the SPL following tonight's match at Ibrox where three goals were conceded to Rangers without reply.

The opening goal came after 32 minutes as Kanchelskis pounced on a scramble to fire past the near post of Alan Combe. Albertz made it two for the Glasgow side three minutes before the break when his powerful free-kick beat the United wall and just on half-time United's chances of getting something from the match were severely diminished when Craig Easton was sent off for a tackle on van Bronckhorst.

In seventy-three minutes it was the Dutchman who widened the gap to three when he fired a 25-yard shot into the top corner to give Rangers a comfortable win and leave United still with two points from their first ten games.
