United's preparations for Sunday's televised visit to Rangers have been hampered by a lengthy injury list. After the Under-21s trip to Aberdeen on Monday, boss Alex Smith has no fewer than 11 injured men to worry him. Tassos Venetis and Sean O'Connor took knocks at Pittodrie to join a list that already included Jim Paterson, Danny Griffin, David Partridge, Neil Heaney, Jamie Buchan, Stephen Wright, David Worrell, Kevin McDonald, Hasney Aljofree.
There was some good news and that was that Cameroon star Mvondo Atangana recovered from a shoulder injury in time to take part in Tuesday's training session. And the likes of Aljofree, McDonald, Venetis and Partridge should be back working normally within the next day or two. Summer signing Griffin, though, faces another three to four weeks out because of his troublesome knee.
