Manager Alex Smith was disappointed that both the trialists due to play at Dunfermline yesterday, one was Frenchman Nicolas Oudec, turned up injured and could not take part.
There is a chance both could have trials at a later date, but the manager admits he is actively pursuing other avenues and their opportunity to join United could be gone.
