We can confirm that Our Academy graduate Nathan Cooney has joined Raith Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
The young defender joins John McGlynn's side for their final five games off the season and has the opportunity to gain some valuable game time at the top of the Championship, with the potential of facing the playoff challenge after the league comes to a close.
In their first season back in the Championship Raith currently occupy second spot, 10 points behind leaders Hearts.
Nathan went out on loan earlier this season when he joined Kelty Hearts in the Lowland League but found his time cut short by the shutdown of the lower leagues due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Head of Player Pathway and Loans Brian Grant said: "It's been extremely unfortunate to see Nathan have not one, but two, loans end abruptly because of the pandemic. He's not had as much game time over the last 12 months as he would have liked and at his age it's vital he's getting that.
"He has the opportunity now to get game time at men's level before the end of the season and face the challenge of being at the top end of the Championship with an ambitious club and manager."
Everyone at the Club wishes Nathan all the best during his short spell in Kirkcaldy.
